San Francisco Bay Area Stadium: Qatar Secure their First Point in FIFA World Cup History

Soccer fans at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium enjoyed a thrilling game in the FIFA World Cup 2026 between Qatar and Switzerland. Qatar secured a dramatic draw, scoring a few minutes into stoppage time of the second half. 

Switzerland took an early lead through a penalty converted by striker Breel Embolo in the 17th minute. The Swiss team controlled most of the match, and their victory looked assured. But Boualem Khoukhi turned victory into a draw equalizing the match with a header, during stoppage time of the second half.

With just a few minutes left before the end of the game, Qatar earned its first-ever point in FIFA World Cup history.
