This program has seen significant growth; In early days, Bryant competed in small college athletics and built a solid foundation developing its student athletes. It gained regional recognition in early 2000s joining the NCAA Division II. Bryant Bulldogs performed excellent during Division II national championship games in 2005, and their appearance in the finals brought national attention to Bryant basketball.
Over the period, they established themselves as a competitive program recruiting talented players and developing a playing style. In 2012–2013 season, they finished with impressive record and qualified for the NEC tournament. They continued to build on this success; one of the most significant moments in Bryant basketball history came during the 2021–2022 season when they finished the season as the leading scorer in NCAA Division I.
