France Beats Morocco 2-0 in First Quarterfinal of FIFA World Cup 2026
France defeated Morocco 2-0 in the first quarterfinal of the FIFA World Cup at Boston Stadium. France played a highly experienced, attacking game. Morocco was successful in stopping goal attempts in the first half, including a penalty from Kylian Mbappé.
There is no doubt that France possesses great players, but missing a penalty at this stage could have complicated the result.
In the second half, France mounted pressure to score and at last took the lead through Mbappé in the 60th minute of the game, when he curled the ball into the net. Morocco had good ball possession, but the French defense didn’t allow them any clear goal attempts throughout the game.
France scored the second and winning goal of the match just six minutes later through Ousmane Dembélé. He placed the ball from the top of the penalty area to secure the victory for his team.
