FIFA World Cup 2026: Argentina, Egypt, and Colombia Reach in the Round of 16
Argentina beat Cabo Verde 3-2, Colombia edges Ghana 1-0, and Egypt defeated Australia on penalty shoot to reach round of 16.
The match between Egypt and Australia was played at Dallas Stadium. Egypt took the lead in the 13th minute through Emam ASHOUR, who scored with a brilliant swinging header. However, the Australians equalized in the 55th minute through an unfortunate own goal when an inswinging shot deflected off Mohamed HANY’s head into the net.
The match went into extra time with no goals, and Egypt won the penalty shootout 4-2 after Australia missed two.
The match between Argentina and Cabo Verde was absolutely sensational. Both teams played aggressive game; goal attempts and role of goalkeepers from both side were impressive. In the last match of the Round of 32, Colombia edged Ghana 1-0. They took an early lead in the 14th minute of the game, and it was the only goal that decided the fate of Ghana.
