Boston Stadium Opener FIFA World Cup 2026: Scotland Defeats Haiti 1-0

Scotland won their opening match against Haiti, held at Boston Stadium, Massachusetts. The game was tense for both teams as Brazil drew with Morocco in the same group after a tough contest.

Both teams played well, especially in the beginning. The game was full of moves and attacks but it was decided by a single 28th-minute goal scored by John McGinn. Possession was evenly split throughout the match and Haiti attempted 15 shots on the Scottish goal but failed to convert. Scotland was also never able to extend its advantage against a resilient Haiti team.

Scotland’s supporters packed Boston Stadium to watch their team’s first victory in a World Cup game since 1990.

The Scottish team faces Morocco on Friday in their second game, while Haiti will play against Brazil.
