Morocco defeated the Netherlands on penalties at Monterrey Stadium. What a sensational match it was. Both teams made aggressive moves to take the lead, but no one succeeded to score a goal in the first half. The Netherlands took the lead in the 72nd minute with an excellent goal from Cody Gakpo. They kept it until 90 minutes of the game. However, Moroccan player Issa Diop equalized the game in the very first minute of stoppage time. It was a dramatic comeback from Morocco.

In extra time, both teams made aggressive moves to convert the game into victory, but the result remained 1–1.

The contest was decided by a penalty shootout; Morocco scored 3 while the Netherlands scored 2.
